2 killed in shootings
MANILA, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher and a construction worker were gunned down in Ilocos Norte and Sorsogon on Sunday.
Motorcycle-riding men shot Arnold Quibuyen, 56, while he was driving his tricycle in Barangay Mabusag in Badoc town at around 4:30 p.m. He died at the scene.
Chief Inspector Dexter Corpuz, Ilocos Norte police spokesman, said the victim surrendered under Oplan Tokhang last year and was ranked fifth on the drug watchlist of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Ilocos Norte.
Gerald Loria, a resident of Sitio 5, Barangay San Vicente in Castilla town, was drinking liquor with his friends at a karaoke bar in Barangay San Vicente when an unidentified man entered and shot him in the chest. Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
