Show cause order up against Lims, Nuñal

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Land Transportation Office-7 will order David Go Lim Sr., David Chua Lim Jr., and Ephraim Nuñal to explain why their respective driver’s licenses should not be revoked in the light of the recent traffic-related incidents they were involved in.

Lim Sr., a car racing enthusiast, figured in a vehicular accident two weeks ago which resulted in the death of a fish vendor.

Interestingly, his son Lim Jr. was also embroiled in what has been tagged as a “road rage” incident with Nuñal, a nurse, last Sunday dawn.

LTO-7 Director Alita Pulga said she already instructed operation chief Joel Maloloy-on to gather all pertinent documents from the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office and the Philippine National Police that would support the issuance of a show cause order against the three.

"Mo-issue lang ko og show cause order ug akoa silang patubagon nganong angay o dili angay i-revoke o i-suspenso ilang driver's license," Pulga told The FREEMAN.

Pulga said once the three have responded to the order, the LTO-7 will forward its findings to its head office in Manila. It will then be up to the head office to decide whether or not they should be stripped of their licenses.

Based on LTO records, the driver's license of David Sr. expires on December 9, 2018 while that of David Jr. expires on March 11, 2022. Nuñal’s license, meanwhile, expires on December 16, 2018. (FREEMAN)
