Party-list congressman’s bodyguard gunned down

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines – Police are investigating the motive for the killing of the bodyguard of a party-list congressman in Barangay Sto. Cristo here on Tuesday.

Julito Quiring Renegado, 47, a resident of  Barangay Masalukot 1 in  Candelaria town, was a bodyguard of I-CARE party-list Rep. Michael Angelo Rivera, said Superintendent Harold Depositar, town police chief.

Depositar said Renegado was driving a multicab when unidentified gunmen reportedly riddled him with bullets.

Police have launched a manhunt for the assailants.
