MANILA, Philippines — Now that Gabbi Garcia is a primetime queen, she also wants to become a beauty queen.

Since Gabbi now stars in her own TV drama with GMA-7 and has released her first single as a recording artist, following the footsteps of fellow Kapuso star Winwyn Marquez as a beauty titlist seems to be the next item on Gabbi’s bucket list.

“Actually, yeah!” Gabbi exclaimed when asked by Philstar.com if she wants to join pageants like Wyn.

“It’s been a childhood dream of mine and I’m not closing my doors at all. I really want to explore that aspect of my career,” said the actress, who joined pageants when she was a kid.

Gabbi won as Miss Skin White 2011 and as Miss Solane 2013 (Teenies category).

“Ate Wyn is really inspiring because we’ve seen her join different pageants. We’ve seen her in her ups and her downs. So, I’m just so happy for her. She really proved herself worthy of that crown.”

Besides Wyn, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee also serve as inspirations for Gabbi.

“Pia Wurtzbach is an icon. She’s one of a kind,” enthused Gabbi, who likes beauty queens because “people listen to you and you can really speak your mind on certain advocacies, topics.”

“And I feel that I want to use that advantage of mine to speak up my mind and for people to listen to me,” Gabbi added.

Gabbi, however, will try her luck in pageants three to four years from now.

“Right now, I’m still very young. I’m only 19, so I want to focus muna on my showbiz career. So, we’ll see.”

Gabbi and Ruru Madrid, one of GMA’s hottest love teams, reunite in the original primetime series “Sherlock Jr.” Janine Gutierrez joins the cast in a special role. Made for viewers of all ages, this action and drama-packed program is about the friendship between an investigative reporter and a dog.

The series introduces Serena, a lovable and smart Golden Retriever that will touch everyone’s lives and will teach them a lesson about love, life, family and friendship.

Roi Vinzon, Rochelle Pangilinan, Andre Paras, Kate Valdez, Sharmaine Arnaiz, Matt Evans, Yann Asistio, Sophia Pablo and “Philippine Comedy Queen” Ai Ai delas Alas complete the star-studded cast of “Sherlock Jr.” Rechie del Carmen helms this program.

This year, Gabbi’s “#Goal” is to focus on this soap opera.

“It’s pretty too much doing well,” Gabbi said of his love team with Ruru. “I missed doing a series with him, so (‘Sherlock Jr.’) is a treat for our fans.”

She assured that the show is something new “kaya dapat abangan.”

“For the first time ever, I’ll be working with a dog and I’ll be close with the dog. It’s for all ages,” assured Gabbi, who always had a dog since she was in grade two.

Whoever you are, a beauty queen, an actress, or whatnot, Gabbi said hair care products like Pantene Silky Smooth Care Shampoo and Conditioner are a must-have as smooth hair gives one confidence to face life’s everyday challenges.

“Being in front of the camera almost every day means changing and experimenting on different hair styles! While this is a fun part of the job for me, it also means that my hair is overworked and exposed to damage-causing fizz. Like most Filipinas, on off-cam days, all I want is hair that is smooth and falls naturally beautifully without fizz,” sadi Gabbi, who is the brand’s first Filipina ambassador in Asia.
