Sam Pinto likes to invite Rachel Peters to her Baler resort

MANILA, Philippines — When Rachel Peters returns to the Philippines from Las Vegas, actress Sam Pinto said she would like to welcome the Miss Universe 2017 top 10 finalist to her new resort in Baler, Aurora.

In an interview with Philstar.com on Wednesday following her launch as Usana’s Celavive skincare line ambassador, Sam said she is friends with Peters’ boyfriend, Camarines Sur governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte, so she would love to have Rachel in her resort.

“But she’s busy kasi with her Siargao, ‘di ba? So it’s hard to invite her to Baler,” said Sam.

In Rachel’s feature video shown at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant, it was revealed that the 26-year-old Filipino-British model from Camarines Sur loves the beach and is a surfer girl like Sam.

“Pero hindi ako pro or anything. Kunyaring pro lang!” quipped Sam, who has been surfing for seven years and loves it because it is also a full-body workout.

“I’ve always been a water baby. I like swimming, I like the beach and I’m a Sagittarius, so I’m into sports," the actress said.

Also, like Sam, Rachel has recently opened a coffee shop in another popular surfing destination, Siargao. Sam, who last visited Siargao two years ago, said she also wants to go to Rachel’s coffee shop.

“The resort’s doing really well. It’s starting to be the peak season and also it’s starting to be the surf season, so ibig sabihin may waves ngayon sa Baler, that’s why people are starting to go again,” Sam shared of her boutique resort, which has been open for seven months.

She said she believes Rachel would enjoy her resort’s nightly bonfires, spacious rooms and long beachfront.

“I feel like Baler is still untouched kasi when you surf there, you can still see mountains on both sides and coconut trees. The beach stretch is longer, so hindi s’ya against sa waves, so you can surf anywhere there.”

Sam said she originally planned to just make the resort her rest house, but since it is 3.5 hectares, she decided to make a business out of it.

“Nakakaloka but I learned a lot!” she said of her new venture as an entrepreneur.

She assured that though she is busy with her business, she is still very active in showbiz. She is now into holiday decorating and into planning the program of the barbecue Christmas dinner she is hosting at her resort.

Among the celebrities she has welcomed in her resort were Andi Eigenmann, Elisse Joson, Myrtle Sarrosa, Miho Nishida and friends from her past shows “La Luna Sangre” and “Bubble Gang.”
