Woman chops off husband’s sex organ

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A 32-year-old woman from Carles, Iloilo reportedly cut off the sex organ of her husband who was sleeping in a friend’s house at Barosbos village after a drinking spree late evening on Saturday.

Police Officer 2 Alexis Bataga, Carles Police investigator, said it was not immediately known what weapon that Liezl Betita used in cutting the penis of her husband, 33-year-old Mark.

Liezl immediately fled after the incident and remained at large, to this day. “We could not yet ascertain what drove her to harm her husband,” said Bataga, although there were reports that the couple had been arguing often, as Liezl had been accusing Mark of having another woman.

The couple has three children, an 11-year-old twin and an 8-year-old child. On April 22, Mark, who worked at a government housing project, had a fight again with Liezl. After work, he went on a drinking binge with some co-workers, then went to the house of a friend, Fidelito Arroyo, for another bout of drinking.

Liezl fetched Mark from Arroyo’s house, about 3.5 kilometers from theirs, but because he was too drunk, it was decided that he just spend the night there. Two hours later, they were roused by Mark’s wailing while asking for help.

Arroyo said he saw a pool of blood on the floor with Mark holding on to his penis, which by then was kept attached only by its skin. Liezl was no longer around.

Mark was rushed to the Jesus Colmenares Memorial District Hospital in Balasan town, then later referred to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City for further treatment. "The last time I talked to his family, they told me that he was recovering," Bataga said, but it was not yet confirmed if Mark's penis was surgically reattached. (FREEMAN)
