Yan si Marian in the morning

In the talk show, Marian Rivera has the opportunity to share her personal experiences as a wife, a homemaker and a mom

Besides portraying the role of Ynang Reyna with the return of Encantadia, Marian Rivera-Dantes will host a morning show called Yan Ang Morning on GMA 7. The show is set to air on May 2.

The talk show is an opportunity for the actress to share personal “life experiences as a wife, a homemaker and a mom.” Marian believes that many Filipinos will be able to relate to the lifestyle program.

The actress admits that hosting is not her forte but she is looking forward to try new and unfamiliar things. She is open to learning a lot from the show. “I was surprised when I was told that I was going to have my own talk show. I had mixed emotions, asking myself (if I could do it). I know hosting is not my forte but I’m willing to give it a try. Now that I’m a mom, I have proven that everything can be learned as long as you give (your all) in what you do. I’ve also realized that having a talk show is a good way to share my views as a young mom, who is trying to strike a balance between work and family. Sabay sabay natin matutunan ang lahat ng bagay, lalo sa mga katulad kong first time maging isang ina,” Marian said in an interview.

Receiving invitations

On another matter, allow us to deal with the various invitations we have received in the course of time. From Arlina Onglao, an invite for dinner. From Toots, Constellations on a Friday night. From Wanlu, an invitation to view the latest version of Filipino Puppets. From St. John’s Academy, a board meeting where discussions on the loss of students occur or are added.

There is also this commercial being aired that states that the next president of the Philippines should be straight and not (magnanakaw) one who steals, not (bastos) vulgar which appears to mean that President Pinoy is one who steals and is vulgar. We should be very careful of how we write and the implications of what has been written.

The Mass as entertainment

If anyone thinks that attending a Mass would be boring, that is a misconception that should be corrected. Upon the invitation of Danny Rayos del Sol, we attended a Mass, where a large orchestra had performers, and a portion was dedicated to persons with personal experiences on the way God changed their lives.

We found this a great concept but one with the danger of misuse. Our favorite came from a man who found himself giving lessons to people imprisoned which he initially didn’t want to do. It was short and straight to the point. Another came from one called the semi-oh speaker or “It is finished” performer who talked of how her parents and family got sick from inborn diseases and how it has affected her life.

Of the orchestra, we don’t have enough knowledge to give competent comments. They looked and sounded fine to us but not exciting enough for us. Perhaps the unfamiliar nature to the songs to us was at fault.
