‘Jamboree Musicale Filipina’

REMEMBER WHEN? - The Philippine Star

In 1949, big stars like Leopoldo Salcedo, Celia Flor, Paraluman, Oscar Moreno, Carlos Padilla, Leila Morena, topbilled Jamboree Musicale Filipina on DZPI, aired every Wednesday, 6 to 7 p.m.

The radio show proved to be a good vehicle to promote their current movies, like LVN’s Capas (Leopoldo and Celia) and Sampaguita’s Good Morning, Professor (Paraluman and Oscar).

Presented ‘with pride’ by San Miguel Brewery, Jamboree Musicale Filipina featured, aside from musical numbers, comedy skits, Tagalog poetry (balagtasan), adventures of Totoy Bayani series.

Master of ceremonies was Conde Ubaldo, with music by the San Miguel Brewery directed by Polding Silos. — RKC
