Gretchen Barretto gets sentimental on her birthday
MANILA, Philippines — Gretchen Barretto posted a sentimental message on her Instagram account on Friday as she celebrates her 45th birthday.
Gretchen posted a photo of a flower and on the caption she expressed her realizations in life and how she chooses to live her life at the present.
The actress said her life “is definitely far from perfect,” especially after she has "gone through so much."
"So many nasty things have been said to my face by strangers, by alleged friends and even by loved ones,” she confessed.
Through years of ups and downs, Gretchen said she made a choice.
“I have chosen to surround myself only with people who are sincere & respectful of other people's rights & feelings , people who love others for what they are & not for what one can get from the others.”
She added that those experiences that her to live in the present.
“It has taught me to stay in the moment, to bask in it and to be grateful for everything I have,” Gretchen said.
Gretchen would also like to live a “Christian-like” life.
“I wish and pray that I will be brave enough to let go of past hurts. In the meantime, I continue to pray for the people who have hurt me even as I continue to feel and acknowledge the pain,” she said.
Recently, it was reported that Gretchen and her sister Marjorie Barretto had a rift after Gretchen expressed her admiration to Liza Soberano. Marjorie was said to consider the young actress a rival of her daughter, Julia Barretto.
Their youngest sister, Claudine, has also been hinting on reconciling with Marjorie after she posted a photo in her Instagram account of her son together with Marjorie's youngest child.
