Flor de Liza updated

LIVE FEED - Bibsy M. Carballo - The Philippine Star

This is obviously the season for the teleserye with at least three new series opening at the same time on ABS-CBN. We have Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, the teleserye version of Ricky Lee’s film, now with Vina Morales, Christian Vasquez and Denise Laurel in the cast; and Flor de Liza marking the return of the Jolina Magdangal-Marvin Agustin love team.

Flor de Liza is a 2015 Philippine family drama-television series created and directed by Wenn Deramas and also starring Desiree del Valle, Carlo Aquino, child stars Rhed Bustamante and Ashley Sarmiento, aside from Jolina and Marvin. The title Flor de Liza is based on the names of the lead characters Florida (Jolina) and her daughter Flor (Ashley), and Elizabeth (Desiree) and her child Liza (Rhed).

As one of the ’90s most loved team-ups, Jolina and Marvin now return to the network where their careers began. The pair is known for rom-com or romantic comedy projects. But through the years, they grew up taking their love team to another level, from one heavy dramatic scene to another, according to direk Wenn. “Our series is a touching tale of two families, focusing on two mothers and their respective daughters, who will be drawn closer by love, then torn apart by unavoidable circumstances.”

Direk Wenn explains that the series will remind TV viewers of the importance of family in shaping the hearts and minds of children. “You will understand why this type of story will need actors with the kind of magic onscreen that Jolina and Marvin have to this day,” says direk Wenn.
