Libiran wows at Weddings

MANILA, Philippines - Fashion designer Francis Libiran recently marked another milestone in his prodigious career. Francis is the first Filipino designer to stage a solo wedding show in the annual Weddings At The Peninsula. Dubbed as the Francis Libiran Weddings, the show was directed by Robby Carmona and held at The Peninsula Manila’s Rigodon Ballroom. The theme of the bridal wear collection was French.

Among the celebrities who sashayed on the runway were the recently-wed Kim Jones, Karylle and Shamcey Supsup. They were joined by Iza Calzado, Venus Raj, Ariella Arida, Gwendolyn Ruais, Christian Bautista, David Semerad, Michael Seifert, Jan Noval, Hideo Muraoka, Ejay Falcon and Sam Milby, among others.

Francis is currently the chairman and artistic director of Advocate Fashion, Inc., the company that exclusively carries his fashion brand, among others.

According to Arsi Baltazar, president and CEO of Advocate Fashion, Inc. and business manager of Francis, there are so many exciting things to look forward to in the coming months from the renowned designer. “Francis Libiran is currently gearing up for another international project that will surely make Filipinos proud.”

It should be noted that Francis created the victory gown of Megan Young when she was crowned Miss World 2013. He was also responsible for the fabulous gown that gave international fashion icon Tyra Banks the Best Dressed Award at New York’s Blossom Ball. In 2012, Francis was among the featured designers in America’s Next Top Model.
