Florentino, Albeos top Chong Hua footrace
CEBU, Philippines — Arnel Florentino and El Marie Albeos dominated their respective divisions in the first Chong Hua Hospital Run yesterday at the car park area of Chong Hua Medical Arts Bldg. in J. Llorente Street, Cebu City.
Florentino claimed the men’s 15K crown with the time of 55 minutes and 11 seconds. Michael Largo came out second with the time of 56:08, while Paul James Zafico placed third in 56:35.
In the distaff side, Albeos emerged as the fastest with the time of one hour and 24 minutes. Jelly Rose Casquejo took the second place honors with 1:27:36, clocking, while Jane Ong wound up third in 1:32:27.
In the 7K action, Roel Algufera topped the men’s division, while Louda Mepieza ruled the women’s side.
Algufera clocked in 24 minutes and 45 seconds to secure the title, followed by Ariel Saballa (25:01) and Kristian Labos (36:47) in the second and third place, respectively.
Mepieza, for her part, registered a time of 35:38, while Mauro Jona Galos (44:88) and Letecia Maglasang (48:19) occupied the next two spots.
Dave Naveo and Nicole Del Rosario ruled their respective divisions in the 3K class with a time of 12:54 and 14:10, respectively. — (FREEMAN)
