SHS-AdC pounces USJR in CESAFI football

CEBU, Philippines — Sacred Heart School-Ateneo annihilated University of San Jose-Recoletos, 12-0, in the secondary division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) football tournament at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.

After suffering a 0-7 defeat in the hands of Don Bosco Technology College last week, SHS-Ateneo bounced back with style with a dominating win over USJ-R.

Leo Maquiling led SHS-AdC’s charge with four goals via the 19th, 25th, 28th and 53rd. Ray Barrowo contributed three in the 32nd, 52nd and 80th.

Other SHS-Ateneo booters who contributed were John Sambrano scoring in the 44th, Kyle Go in the 64th, Joseph Lumapas in the 71st, Samuel Sistoso in the 82nd and Kian Partosa in the 87th.

Meanwhile, University of Southern Philippines outsmarted the University of San Carlos-BED, 1-0  via penalty kick made by Luis Aguilar in the 6th minute. (FREEMAN)
