1994 Bulldogs pin down Batch '82 in NABC hoop
CEBU, Philippines - The 1994 Bulldogs rode on the all-around hardcourt brilliance of Sigmund Cabrera to trounce the 1982 Classic Basketball, 74-61, in Division 2 action of the University of San Carlos-North Alumni Basketball Conference (USC-NABC) Summer League 2 powered by Common Ground at the USC-North Campus gym.
Cabrera unloaded a game-high 22 points on top of 12 rebounds, five steals and two assists. He was ably backed up by James Lu with 13 points and three rebounds as well as Jaime Medija with 10 points and five steals.
Fabiolo Bartolinao cashed in 16 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two assists for Batch '82, while Nonelone Belocura had 10 points and two assists in a losing cause.
In the other games, the 2000 Millennium Bugs, 1998 Sipat and 2003 Stallions all won by default over the 1995 Pirates, 1996 Chubbies and the 2010 Pioneers, respectively.
The outright forfeiture was slapped on the Pirates, Chubbies and Pioneers due to infringement of league rules for not fielding in at least eight players during the opening ceremonies last week. They are also required to pay a penalty of P500. (FREEMAN)
