UC, USJ-R dispute football crown
CEBU, Philippines - The final match between the University of San Jose-Recoletos and the University of Cebu in collegiate football event of the 15th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) season will take place this afternoon at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The Spiking Webmasters of UC hope to finally snare the coveted crown that was denied from them by the University of San Carlos Golden Booters last year.
USJ-R, for its part, will try to regain the title it last won two years ago.
Before the UC-USJ-R battle set at 3 p.m., dethroned champion USC will clash with the University of the Visayas for the third place honors at 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, the volleyball semifinals will also be contested today starting at 8 a.m. at the USC-Main gym.
In the opener, defending champion Southwestern University will take on UC in the women's division. It will be followed by back-to-back secondary girls matches between USJ-R against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and SWU opposite USC.
It's going to be an all-men's showdown in the afternoon session, with SWU taking on the University of Southern Philippines Foundation and USJ-R going up against USC.
