Two fall in buy-bust
CEBU, Philippines — Two persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, last Saturday evening.
Chief Inspector Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-City Intelligence Branch identified those arrested as Cyril Shane Ybañez, 24, and Ronnie Velasco, 37, who were arrested around 9:30 p.m.
Ybañez and Velasco are neighbors in Purok Rambo of Barangay Babag. Both did not resist as they were arrested by the police decoy who transacted with them.
Seized from Ybañez, the target of the operation, were 22 small sachets of suspected shabu and P550 suspected drug money, while the P500 buy-bust money was recovered from Velasco.
The estimated weight of the seized shabu was around 1.1 grams, it was estimated to have a street value of P12,980.
The suspects are now detained in the LCPO holding cell and are set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
