Man drowns in Pinamungajan

CEBU, Philippines - A 62-year-old man drowned while swimming in the seawaters off Barangay Cabiangon, Pinamungajan town Sunday afternoon.

 The victim was identified as Paulino Gorres, a resident of Barangay Butong, Pinamungajan.

 On Sunday, the Pinamungajan police received a call from the personnel of Pinamungajan District Hospital informing them that a man died after drowning.

 Initial investigation revealed that the victim, along with his relatives and friends, were having a picnic at the beach.

 While some were celebrating, the victim, along with his grandchildren, took a dip and went to a deep portion of the beach where he later drowned.

 Gorres was rushed to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.  (FREEMAN)
