God’s miracles happen everyday

LIFE'S ESSENCE - Katherine R. Oyson - The Freeman

Miracles are in front of our eyes every single day.  Like in the case of Rolly Espana who narrated his story in the book, Didache, Daily Bible Reflections For Catholics.

“Ploop! That was a dull sound from an exploding overheated klieg light on top of us. I was oblivious of the incident and kept talking to the event coordinator. Then there was a subdue commotion around us, not wanting to take the attention of those attending the event. Apparently the bulb exploded into hot broken glasses in front of us and around us. The staff then silently picked up the broken particles, which burned the rug where it had landed. These hot pieces were not more than two feet from where we stood! I realized then that something had shielded us from those hot glass pieces. It was a miracle that we were not  burned and I thanked my angels for the mantle of protection. Miracles happen every day and we need to have faith to recognize them. It takes faith to believe in the daily miracles happening in our lives and we thank God for it.”

I am reminded of what happened to a close friend. One morning he had difficulty breathing and felt a kind of tightness in his chest. He was rushed to the emergency room of the hospital nearby. He realized that he was walking in a dark place and told himself that maybe there was a brown-out. He kept on walking and saw faces he could not recognized because of darkness. The next thing, he heard the voices of his family and he saw them crying. His daughter told him that the doctor kept on pumping his heart but he did not respond. But his daughter insisted that  the doctors should keep on pumping. While the doctors did their thing, the family never lose hope and continued their prayers.  Until he  finally came back to life. He had underwent clinical death.

Miracles abound every day. In fact being alive today is a miracle from God. There are people in the hospital right now who are struggling for their last breath. Our breathe is a gift of life and God’s precious gift to us that we should be thankful and grateful  for.

Other miracles that are unfolding before our eyes every day that as cited by Roo Lulligan of www.mindbodygreen.com:

Just the fact that you are alive is a miracle. Being you and being alive is truly miraculous.

The sun comes up and the moon comes out. The earth spins on its axis and we have a brand new day every 24 hours.

The season change. Nature occurs in its perfect cycles and we don’t have to do anything except appreciate it.

Random acts of kindness. A smile and connection with a stranger.

No matter where you live, you see the same moon as everyone else.

All the different cultures of the world. We all communicate and create customs, yet we have created different ways of speaking, eating preferences, and creative expressions that make us special.

Friendship. Facebooks is used by millions of people. Sharing your life, thoughts, dreams and hopes and struggles with another and feeling understood is an everyday miracle.
