Eyeing skilled immigrants; Australia faced with labor shortage

CEBU, Philippines - An Australian immigration expert is encouraging Cebuanos to take advantage of Australia's labor force shortage.

"Australia is looking to invite more skilled immigrants to come into the country to fill the labor shortages and boost the economy”, said Vikram Sharma, an Australian-registered migration agent.

Sharma who is also the chief executive officer (CEO) and director of Lawson College Australia, which offers courses for international students in nursing, English advancement and business management among others, will be in Cebu to invite Cebuanos to take advantage of this opportunity.

Sharma will speak during the Enhance Visa’s education and immigration expo slated in August 19 and 26, 2017 to be held in Harold’s Hotel Cebu.

Australia has skill shortages in the following industry fields: healthcare and medical, engineering, agriculture, accounting, computer science and information technology.

In a 2017 survey conducted by Mercer, one of the world’s largest HR consultancy firms, three of Australia’s cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Perth) are in the top 10 percent best places to live on.

Likewise, Australia is also a top destination for international students with its world-leading universities and topnotch educational facilities.

"In this increasingly global age, we really encourage our fellow Filipinos to seek better opportunities abroad as we are among the most hardworking and competitive members of any workforce,” said Eden Dumont, Managing Director of Enhance Visa.

Enhance Visa has a 23-year track record of helping thousands of Filipinos build a better future abroad by providing comprehensive immigration solutions for them to countries Canada, Australia and New Zealand. (FREEMAN)
