LIST: Forbes names 50 richest Filipinos for 2016

MANILA, Philippines — American business magazine Forbes on Thursday released its new list of 50 richest Filipinos and their families.

Shopping mogul, Henry Sy, 91, topped the list for the ninth-consecutive year. His net worth of $13.7 billion declined by $0.7 billion from his 2015 net worth of $14.4 billion.

Forbes’ richest list consists mostly of male business tycoons while only five females made it to the list. The businesswomen who made it to the list were Mercedes Zobel, Betty Ang, Vivian Que Azcona, Beatrice Campos and Juliette Romualdez.

On the other hand, 39-year-old fast food businessman, Edgar Sia, was named the youngest richest Filipino while the 95-year-old co-founder of Rustans Group, Bienvenido Tantoco Sr., was the oldest business man to make it to the list.
