Peso sheds 16 centavos on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso shed 16 centavos against the greenback on Thursday, closing at 44.42 from the previous day's 44.26.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $935 million, lower than the $1.025 billion posted on Wednesday.

The peso opened Thursday at 44.5.
