Peso weakens on Friday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso weakened against the dollar on Friday, closing at 43.56 from the previous day's 43.38.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $575.3 million, higher than the 496.3 million posted on Thursday.

The peso opened Friday at 43.45.
