Rape suspect lands in jail

MANILA, Philippines - A man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Marikina City was arrested on Friday night.

Loren Lander Sosa was hauled to jail following his arrest at the Riverbank mall, city police chief Senior Superintendent Lorenzo Holanday said.

Sosa allegedly raped the girl at a resort in Barangay Concepcion Uno in April last year.

Sosa was listed as the second most wanted person of the Eastern Police District, according to EPD director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula.

Sapitula said Sosa was nabbed on the strength of an arrest warrant for rape issued by Judge Wilfredo Maynigo of the Marikina City Regional Trial Court Branch 192.

Police said Sosa and the victim were drinking with friends when the alleged rape occurred.
