4 GPS brands inaprub ng LTFRB
MANILA, Philippines – Inaprubahan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang apat na global positioning system (GPS) brands na maglalagay ng device sa lahat ng provincial buses hanggang April 30.
Ito ay ang Atrack, M-Rex Tracker, Vectras at Unitrack brands.
“With the use of the latest and innovative technology, we believe we can modernize our transport system and provide the commuters with reliable, convenient, and safe transportation services,” pahayag ni LTFRB Chair Winston Ginez.
Ang paglalagay ng GPS ay mandato ng batas bilang safety measures sa mga passenger bus at makaiwas sa aksidente sa mga lansangan.
Sa pamamagitan ng GPS tracking, madaling mamomonitor ng mga awtoridad ang sasakyan kung mabilis itong magpatakbo at mabilis din ang feedback kung ang bus ay lumampas sa speed limit.
“The LTFRB’s main aim is to protect the safety of the riding public by regulating the speed limit of buses traversing our national roads and highways,” dagdag ni Ginez.
Ang mga qualified GPS device providers lamang ang pinapayagan ng LTFRB na maglagay ng naturang mga device.
Ang mga bus companies at operators na hindi susunod sa paglalagay ng device ay magmumulta ng P5,000 kada unit at dagdag na P1,000 per unit kada buwan.
