Investors sa SRP di exempted sa buhis

CEBU, Philippines — Giklaro ni Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña nga dili exempted sa pagbayad sa buhis ug ubang regulatory fees ang investors sa South Road Properties.

Kini human niya gi-review ang proposal sa JG Summit Holdings Inc. nga gustong mo-invest og P18 bilyones nga development sa SRP.

Matud ni Osmeña nga dili klaro sa proposal ang intensyon sa JG Summit nga mobayad og real estate taxes ug lain pang mga buhis.

“I’m just reminding them just to make the picture clear so that there’s no more misunderstanding in the future. The city government is wearing three hats. One as a business partner being the landlord, another one as the governing LGU, and another one as a PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) administrator,” matud sa mayor.

Ang JG Summit gustong motukod og hotel, restaurant, casino, convention center, yacht club, water park, ug lain pang mga world-class facilities sa luna sa may Kawit Island sa SRP.

Matud ni Osmeña nga iya na nga giingnan ang mga opisyal sa JG Summit kalabot niini nga dunay tulo ka personalidad ang angay nga buhaton sa siyudad.

Sigun sa mayor nga landlord o business partner sa siyudad ang investor nga moabang sa luna.

Nagkasinabot na ang siyudad ug ang JG Summit nga makadawat ang siyudad og 10 porsiyento sa gross rentals sa investment.

Kung ang establishment gamiton mismo sa JG Summit, matud ni Osmeña nga mangayo ang siyudad og 2 ngadto sa 3 porsiyento.

“Do not forget that the city government is also a governing LGU. As a governing LGU, we have a regular business tax and business permits, that’s nothing to do with it (investment),” matud niya.

“Ato nang klaruhon. That’s another hat. One as the landlord, the other one as an LGU. Because even if the landlord is somebody else, we still have to get a business permit. They are not exempted from any of that. I want to make that clear,” dugang niya.
