Cebu City duha ang acting Mayor
CEBU, Philippines - Samtang nagseleb-rar sa ilang adlaw’ng natawhan ug sa ilang ika-33 ka tuig isip managtiayon sa nasud sa Japan, si Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña niluwat og joint designation isip acting mayor sa siyudad kang Bise Mayor Edgardo Labella ug City Administrator Veronica Morelos.
Suma pa ni Labella nga nidawat siya sa tahas subay sa balaud apan wala siya mohatag sa direktang tubag kung angay ba nga duha sila ang gibinlan sa trabaho isip acting mayor.
"My comment is that I’m just exercising pursuant to Section 46 of the Local Government Code whether or not is allowed. Just look at the Section 46 of the Local Government Code. Ako lang gisunod lang nako ang mandato, dili gyud ingon nga gusto gyud kaayo ko since there is a mandate provided under Local Government Code so I have to oblige whether or not katong imong pangutana murag wala man seguro na ma-mention sa Local Government Code,” matud ni Labella.
Dugang pa niya nga dili na angay ikonsulta sa Department of Interior Local Government ang maong mando kanila tungod kay klaro na ang gisaysay sa balaud ang maong tahas.
“Pwede seguro pero it is not necessary anymore. There is nothing to be clarified because law is very explicit, very categorical. Wala man nag-mention nga usa or duha okay ba, ang gi-mention ra gyud sa balaud nga in the absence of the mayor naas balaud, in the absence of the governor, mayor of the city or municipality, the vice mayor or vice governor will act as the acting mayor respectively,” dugang pa niya.
Nagtuo si Labella nga ang pagbutang usab kang Morelos isip acting mayor aron lang adunay check and balance.
