I'm on Team Eric... I think

CHANNEL SURFING - Althea Lauren Ricardo -

I'm back to True Blood again, after obsessing long and hard on Game of Thrones, the series. Don't get me wrong I'm now reading A Clash of Kings, but the series isn't returning until next year, so it's back to status quo as far as my TV obsessions are concerned. I'm enjoying every sip of True Blood, even as I anticipate the return of Dexter and The Walking Dead.

This season on True Blood is as sexy as ever. Sexier, in fact, because of the addition of the hunky werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) to Sookie Stackhouse's (Anna Paquin) already complicated love potentials. But if you're thinking it's going to be an Alcide-Sookie hook up, let me just say that this season is for Team Eric: Something's going to happen to Eric that'll expose his vulnerable side and infatuate the hell out of Sookie's messianic complex.

But it's not just Alcide and this Eric and Sookie hook up that has got me all excited. Everything's looking sexy-twisted in Bon Temps.

Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) has found other shifters and they meet, anger management style. One of the female shifters have taken a fancy to Sam, so we get to see Sam's nice and flirty side.

Sookie's best friend Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) had left for New Orleans to start a new life and then returned to discover your past life does catch up with you. What's completely new about her, however, is that she's involved with a woman, Naomi (Vedette Lim).

Tara's cousin Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) also has his "bruho" boyfriend Jesus Velasquz (Kevin Alejandro) and together they will explore the Wiccan world deeperjoining a coven, in fact, with another Merlotte's waitress, Holly Cleary (Lauren Bowles).

Baby vampire Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) is living with her human boyfriend Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack), but she's struggling with vampiric urges that has her seeking out other men for their blood. Related to that, Jessica and Sookie's brother Jason are developing a friendship that Hoyt may (or may not) have to worry about.

Jason, too, experiences another brush with the supernatural: This time, with werepanthers. If Jason is to become a werepanther, I don't know. It would make for an interesting twist, though, as I don't know how that's going to go along with all of Sookie's "Is everyone supernatural?!" sentiment.

And finally we go to Bill Compton, king of Louisiana. Yes, you read that right. Bill is king. And what a king he makes, seemingly arrogant and power-hungry. Enough, actually, to make you sort of not want to root for him and Sookie ever again. It's nice to see his old house all spruced up, though, and it's also interesting to see Sookie try to defy him.

But there's a moment in Season 4, Episode 7, in which we get to see two vampires in love with the same girl... and the lengths they would go for love. Bill had successfully petitioned to sentence Eric with the "true death," and when he asked Eric what his last words were, the sheriff said: "Tell Sookie I was born the night she found me, because of her I went to my true death knowing what it means to love. Tell her, 'Thank you.'" If that wouldn't melt a vampire's heart...

I hear that there are only four episodes left. I don't know if that's enough to win my heart back to Team Bill, especially since I'm also looking towards the direction of Team Alcide.

Let me just say, lucky Sookie.
