Message for the media in government

While I’m still in Hong Kong at this time, I was asked to make this advance column for Jan. 2, 2020 so in a way I would like to talk about something that has gone viral in my Gmail account. Of course the name of the writer has been known in social media. So here it goes.

“Attention President's Men:

I have been saying all along that the Philippine Government media is puro “Pa Pogi” and not aggressive enough to cross swords with the International Community who are bastardizing our Internal Affairs as a Sovereign Nation. Look at the IBC TV, Year 2019 is about to end yet they have been re-cycling news about PDU30 for the past three years with nothing pro-active to defend and promote gains of the PDU30 Administration.

“I now call upon the Government Media to show the International Community media, the US Senate, Congress, United Nations (UN) Europe and all other International Organizations to show the issues that were never presented to the International Media. The first is to bring to bear what are the sins of Sen. De Lima? What are the cases filed in our courts against her. And more importantly, where is the video of Sen. De Lima having a smorgasbord in the National Penitentiary with Big Time Drug Lords?

“More importantly we’d like to ask you whether it is wrong to feed all the data about Sen. De Lima to the International Community in order to defend the policies of this government? Provide all the facts about Sen. De Lima the whole works…. Why not? I dare ask the Government Bureaucracy to defend this Republic as fiercely as PDU30 is doing, not just sitting inside your airconditioned room. This letter is signed PDU30 Supporter (I know you know me.)”

I wrote this article simply because we know that even during her time as Department of Justice secretary, she was already overexposed with scandal after scandal. The most telling was her going to Baguio to give money to her drug contact --a friend of her driver whom we learned was her boyfriend.

This issue became bigger in the sense that the US Senate issued a visa warning to those handling her case as if these people are the ones who committed a crime. How dare those US senators interfere with our sovereign nation? It is obvious to me that the Philippine government did not come up with a budget to promote the Philippines in the US. They did not even see that Pres. Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte last approval rating was a high of 87%. These US senators should do a little research and find out who are the leaders of the world with a high popularity rating. Let’s hope this article with reawaken our government media to be more aggressive than they have been in the past years. We are now in the year 2020 and we expect more from these bureaucrats.

It is now 2020 and one of the things that Pres. Duterte wanted to do was talk to Communist Party of the Philippines chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison. For more than 50 years now, Joma was on top of the CPP-NPA-NDF. He has been the head of this insurgency drive killing so many soldiers, policemen, innocent civilians, and yes, perpetrating the massacre of their own NPA soldiers whom they suspect have fled to the government.

So I’d like to know what will Pres. Duterte talk about with Joma? Come now, do you think that Joma would give up the fight because he is talking with Pres. Duterte? I doubt it. He has kept his status as chairman of the CPP and we know that time is running out for him. But this should be a reason why he should quit now. So we are saying that we expect nothing to happen even if the president talks to Joma.

We know that God gives importance to peacemakers, which is why I can understand why the president still wants to talk peace with Joma. While we believe that Pres. Duterte truly wants peace for the country --the problem is Joma really does not want to have peace and would fight until his death!
