Missing?

A total of 277 records relating to Proclamation 75 that issued amnesty to those involved in the Oakwood Mutiny, Marine Standoff, and Philippine Peninsula Siege by then president Aquino are missing at the Department of National Defense (DND). This is the statement by the chief of Legal Affairs of the DND at the Makati Regional Trial Court hearing 148, in connection with the coup d'etat case against Senator Trillanes. The absence of an application form was the basis for Duterte’s withdrawing Trillanes’ amnesty. Now, shouldn’t this be the basis for withdrawing the amnesty of everyone else involved in the three incidents, including Faeldon, Lim, Maestrecampo, Gambala, and many others? After all, they all participated in the same crimes against the state. Or is Trillanes just being singled out for reasons everyone knows?

How is it possible for the documents of all those who specifically applied for amnesty to just go missing? It's incredible that everything is all gone. Take note that the documents are considered missing, which means they were actually at the DND. It is too farfetched to say that all 277 did not apply for amnesty. Is this why all their documents were conveniently “lost” because of that reason? The government prosecutors are also saying that Trillanes's application form is defective. If so, then it does exist, right? If it exists, then what is the basis of Duterte’s proclamation voiding his amnesty? If it is indeed defective, why only bring it up now and not when it was submitted? And once again, if Trillanes’ amnesty application form is defective, should not the forms of the others be defective as well?

Is this what AFP Chief of Staff General Galvez meant by lapses in the handling of Trillanes’ amnesty, as well as the rest? Did he already know about the missing documents of everyone? Who should be responsible for this? Let's say that Duterte's voiding of Trillanes's amnesty has a legal basis, then he should also revoke the amnesty of everyone, because of the crimes against the country. But DOJ Secretary Guevarra has admitted that Trillanes is the priority of the government, and that it is up to the president what to do with the other mutineers’ amnesties. Since this administration does not care what explanation it gives to the nation, I sincerely doubt Duterte will do anything with the other amnesties, especially if some are already working for the administration. Trillanes is the target, period. Dutrete is the law, period. This administration has definitely put aside the laws and the Constitution, just to give Duterte and his allies the protection they need, especially from fierce critics like Trillanes. I hope the courts see this travesty, and decide on the side of truth and justice. The people should see the judiciary truly working for the people, and not for the administration.
