Footwear

FOOTWEAR. After learning that school-children in a mountain barangay have to walk kilometers to school, sometimes even crossing rivers, a media personality gifted the pupils footwear (slippers and rubber shoes).

UNUSED. The giver learned the school-children seldom use the donated footwear. Asked why, the children explained: "Aron dili dayon maguba. Lapukon ra ba among dan kun ting-ulan."
