Free taxi rides

FREE RIDES. In Manila there were free LRT and MRT rides for card-bearing workers during the celebration of Labor Day. Here in Cebu there were no public transport giving free Labor Day rides. But there was a taxi driver who gave free rides to anyone from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

NO FREE GAS. The driver, who owned the taxi he drove, said he could have given more free ride hours if only someone had given him a donation of free gas. "Pero OK lang," he said. "Ako man ning personal nga selebrasyon sa Labor Day, wa may labot ang gas stations."

YEARLY. This free taxi ride has been this driver's Labor Day celebration every year for five years now. He refused to be identified in media.
