CEBU, Philippines – An alleged drug pusher was arrested by the police with over P59,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation past 11 a.m. on Friday in Barangay Lower Lipata, Minglanilla town.

Police arrested Edwin Tanto, of Lower Lipata, after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu to a police officer during the operation.

The drug bust stemmed several reports the police received from concerned individuals, pointing the suspect as being engaged in selling drugs.

During the buy-bust, a poseur-buyer bought a sachet of shabu from the suspect worth P200. After the police officer received the item, he gave the P200 buy-bust money to the suspect.

The shabu weighed 5.4 grams with a value of P59,400 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board estimates.

The suspect was brought to the police station and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of  2002.
