Mandaue installs 15 school Principals

CEBU, Philippines- Some 15 schools in Mandaue City are expecting to welcome their new principals starting today as the Department Education-Mandaue City division inducted the new officials to their posts.

The installation and reshuffling came after most of the principals in both elementary and high school levels in the city have already retired from service.

Six teachers have been promoted to become principals.

It was learned that the reshuffling of principals took effect in consultation with the school board in the light of a DepEd memorandum circular that prohibits movement of school personnel without the approval of the school board that is chaired by the mayor.

Yesterday's installation of the newly-appointed principals took place at the DepEd-Mandaue City Conference Room and led by Dr. Virginia Zapanta, division superintendent. Mayor Jonas Cortes witnessed the event.

Cortes, in his speech, urged the principals to come up with long-range plans for their respective schools with emphasis on the construction of more classrooms.
