Suspected drug pusher nabbed

CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher who works for a big time drug trader in Bohol was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ermita.

Ronald Lucero, 33, was arrested Wednesday night by the members of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSOTG).

CAIDSOTF chief Eunil Avergonzado said that Lucero serves as business partner in the illegal drug activity of Rowen Secretaria alias Yawa, who was able to escape in last month’s raid in Barangay Banacon, Getafe town in Bohol. Banacon is 45-minute away from Ermita by boat.

“Usahay adto ni siya mokuha og supply kang Secretaria, naa sa’y higayon nga siya ang mu-supply ni Secretaria,” said Avegonzado.

Last September 5, operatives of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (RAIDSOTG), armed with a search warrant, tried but failed to arrest Secretaria and instead arrested his alleged accomplices Harold “Rambo” Bejasa, 23, also of Barangay Ermita, and Chardilito Conson, 31, of Getafe.

In last Wednesday’s buy-bust operation, a total of 41 packs of shabu were seized from Lucero’s possession. Police also recovered almost P1,000 cash believed to be proceeds of the suspect’s illegal drug activities.

Lucero is now detained at the Cebu City Police Office stockade and will face charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — (FREEMAN)
