Alayon dads thank JVR

CEBU, Philippines - Members of the 5th Sangguniang Panlungsod in Talisay City, who are indentified with the Alayon party of former Cebu congressman Eduardo Gullas, now enjoy the same number of job order quotas being enjoyed by councilors-elect allied with Mayor Johnny De los Reyes’ Liberal Party.

Consequently, Councilor Socrates Fernandez and four other councilors belonging to the opposition bloc authored a resolution thanking De los Reyes “for the generous and fraternal gesture” and for setting aside political affiliations to efficiently deliver the basic social services to residents.

“After the election on May 13, 2013, the city councilors, after swearing allegiance to our constitution, pledged to support and help the positive and pro-poor projects of Mayor Johnny V. de los Reyes,” Fernandez said.

According to Fernandez, the Alayon councilors uphold the principle of unity and cohesive dedication to help residents by legislation.

De los Reyes had decided that Alayon councilors must also be given 50 job orders as their quota.

“The 5th Sangguniang Panlungsod members of the City of Talisay wish to express profound gratitude and thanks to Honorable Mayor Johnny V. de los Reyes because of his generous and fraternal gesture,” the resolution read.

The resolution was also signed by Alayon Councilors Antonio D. Bacaltos, Jr., Edward S. Alesna, Doroteo S. Emit, and Dennis B. Basillote. – Garry B. Lao (FREEMAN)
