Liloan carry on with kids party

CEBU, Philippines -  Despite the crisis at Capitol, Liloan town proceeded with the annual “Pasko sa Kabataan sa Liloan,” which saw 650 children receiving Christmas gifts from Mayor Vincente Franco “Duke” Frasco and wife Cristina Garcia-Frasco.

Governor Gwen Garcia missed the children’s party.

Cristina Garcia-Frasco said the yearly “Pasko sa Liloan,” now in its fourth year, continues despite the problem now facing by her mother and their family.

She expressed her thanks to the people of Liloan who continue to support their family and her mother.

“Dako kayo ang among kalipay sa inyong padayon nga pagpaluyo sa among pamilya ilabi na gayud ni Governor Gwen. Dili gayud kami makalimot kaninyo,” she said.

For his part, Mayor Frasco said the “Pasko sa Liloan” continues because of the support of his wife and Governor Garcia.

The mayor said this is the time to be giving gifts to children.

However, backpacks meant for the children did not reach the town yesterday because the release from Capitol was denied.

Aside from toys and school paraphernalia, the children were given food and entertained by Jollibee mascots. (FREEMAN)
