1st CVR7 Basketball League to kick off April 27

CEBU, Philippines — The Central Visayas Region of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles) headed by regional governor Joseph James Cornejo will be holding its first ever CVR7 Basketball League billed as “Kuya Roel “Boy” Del Socorro Cup” set to start on April 27 at the Baller Capital in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

League commissioner Adrian Dy said a total of 10 teams will be seeing action in the tournament organized by AMC Sports League with the support of Cebu MTC, Sunsport, Hype Pro Cebu, and Epson.

The contending Eagles clubs are Habagatang Sugbo, New Cebu Integrated North, Consolacion Cebu Integrated North, South Mandirigma, Habagatang Sugbo Nagahugpong, South Maliksi, Sugbuanong Maharlika, Madasigon Integrated North, Sugbu Supremo Integrated North, and Habagatang Sugbo Tagaytay.

Divided into two groups of five, they will play a single round robin in the elimination.

The top four teams per bracket will advance to the playoffs, with the top two qualifiers enjoying twice-to-beat incentives. The winners will proceed to the semifinals and then to the championship.— (FREEMAN)
