“Expect the best”

CEBU, Philippines —  Expect the best.

The organizing Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC) assured this to all the participants of the highly anticipated 2023 Cebu Marathon calendared for January 8 at the iconic Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).

“Expect the best,” declared CERC President Jesse Taborada in a press conference last Tuesday at House of Lechon.

“We’ve been known to be unique in our ways of organizing events in the past. We will do our best to make it a memorable experience for all the runners,” Taborada added.

On the same occasion, Taborada together with Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) chairman John Pages and race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running unveiled the rendered design of the “puso” or hanging rice-shaped medal that will be given away to the 21K and 42K finishers.

Taborada also revealed that a total of 5,100 runners have already signed up for the surefire blockbuster run, easily surpassing the 5,081 runners who joined in their previous physical run back in 2020.

Part of the reason is the majestic CCLEX, the country’s newest landmark and tourist attraction that will serve as the prime route of the race.

“Just imagine thousands of runners going up the CCLEX, how exciting it can be!,” Pages said.

Meanwhile, the early bird rates of P799 for the 5K and 10K, P1,799 for the 21K, and P1,999 for the 42K have been extended until October 16.
