Duno hopes to greet New Year with fireworks

CEBU, Philippines — Santisima’s Sanman stablemate Romero “Ruthless” Duno will try to greet the New Year with fireworks in the ring as he battles against the undefeated lightweight contender Frank “The Ghost” Martin from Indianapolis, Indiana on January 1 (January 2, Phl time) in a non-title match at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.

Duno prevailed over Colombian Jonathan Perez by technical decision last September 25 at the Manual Artime Community Center Theater in Miami, Florida.

One month earlier, Martin won by unanimous verdict against his compatriot Ryan Kielczweski at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Duno sports a 24-2 record laced with 19 knockouts while Martin unscathed in 14 bouts packed with 10KOs.Both fighters are 26 years old. — EBV
