ABL still accepting teams for maiden season
CEBU, Philippines — The newly-minted Amicis Basketball League (ABL) in Consolacion will still be accepting entries for its maiden season set to kick off on December 1 at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
So far, a total of 11 teams have already signed up for tournament that is being held in partnership with North Sports Apparel co-owned by Paul Alelu Flores and Joven Cid Cortes.
These are the SK Federation PREsident, SFG, SPEAK, Erick Cruz and Paknaan selection in the 29-under age group and the 99ers, PS Farm, YYBC Club, Thor Olshoppe, PNP and Team Jiclor in the 30-above category.
Those who are interested to join will be assessed with a P1,500 registration fee per player inclusive of a one set of subli uniform and free team entrance.
For further details, one may contact ABL co-founder and commissioner Leemar Dahil at 0949-3464274.
Dahil, who is also the assistant coach of the Consolacion Sarok Weavers, formed the ABL to give hardcourt warriors a chance to showcase their skills especially those who were not able to compete in the annual Consolacion Mayor’s Cup.
The league opens its doors mostly on ballclubs, barkadahan or teams that just want to relax and have fun through shooting hoops.
It will follow a barangayan or barkadahan format so that all participants will be given an opportunity to have their time on the playing court regardless of their skills level.
Former and active varsity and commercial cagers, however, are barred from competing in the league. EBV
