CEBU, Philippines — Cebuana skateboard sensation Margielyn Didal further etched her name in stone after placing fifth overall in the LA leg of the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) World Tour yesterday (Phl time) at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.

It’s the best finish ever by a Filipino street skateboarder in the prestigious tournament.

The 20-year-old Didal earned an outright semifinals berth based on her results in the London edition last summer. She missed the finals but silently worked her way up again in pursuit of her Olympic dreams via the SLS World Tour.

Gaining back some confidence, the Asian Games gold medallist made it to the final round.

She sealed her US campaign with 21.2 points out of the five tricks in the final action.

Later this year, Didal will lead the Philippine team in skateboard event of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Tagaytay. (FREEMAN)
