CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu leg of the World Youth and Professional Scrabble Championships Qualifying Tournament will take place at SM Seaside City this Saturday.
The organizers want a better lineup to compose the Philippine team so they invited players from other areas including from Manila.
Following a modified King of the Hill format, the top performers will have a chance to don the Phl colors in the World Scrabble Championships this October in the United Kingdom.
The one-day tilt features the elementary, high school and professional division.
Entry fee is pegged at P350 for the pros and P200 for the lower categories.
Cash prizes, plaques and medals will be given away to the winners of the event spearheaded by the Cebu Scrabble Association and the Talisay Sugbo Masonic Lodge in partnership with SM Seaside City and Greenland Travels.
