Chepsiror, Sorongon dominate Health Run
CEBU, Philippines — Kenyan Eric Chepsiror and Ruffa Sorongon emerged as the fastest in their respective divisions in the Three Sixty Pharmacy's 'Health Run' yesterday morning at the Pescadores Road in Cebu Business Park.
Chepsiror ruled the 21K men's open with a time of hour, nine minutes and 59 seconds besting his compatriot Eliud Kering with 1:17:33 clocking as Michael Largo wound up third with 1:17:59.
In the distaff side, Sorongon claimed the women's tiara with a time of 1:32:31 followed by Lizane Abella (1:33:38) and Reah Mae Garrucho (1:43:29) at second and third place, respectively.
Joseph Emia and Melody Perez also topped their respective divisions in the 12K action.
Emia clocked in 43 minutes and 27 seconds followed by Arnel Florentino in 45:22 and Azlan Pagay in 45:31 for the second and third place, respectively.
Perez, for her part, won the women's title with a time of 51:29. Geneicel Saballa (53:07) and Angel Estillore (55:20) occupied the next two spots.
In the 6K class, Ruel Algufera topped the men's action with 20:44 followed by Prince Joey Lee (20:45), while Jeboy Magbologtong settled for third with 23:35 clocking.
The top two finishers in the 6K women's were Lovely Andrin (25:50) and Geneda Arcuino (26:17). Harold Kim Guiao and Lovely Grace Peña, on the other hand, won the 3K race with a time of 11:22 and 14:12, respectively. (FREEMAN)
