Team Hiroshi dominates Tayud futsal tourney

CEBU, Philippines - Team Hiroshi reigned supreme in the men’s open division of the 2nd Tayud Futsal Cup yesterday at the  Tayud Elementary School gym.

Hiroshi Iwanaga powered Team Hiroshi in a dominating 5-2 victory over Real Galaxy. Iwanaga was hailed as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament after collecting 10 goals.

Earlier, the Talisay Razkals and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu also claimed the championship for their respective class.

The Razkals won the girls 15 class at the expense of Don Bosco-Liloan's Team A, 5-2. Sheila Marie Estopito who made 19 goals throughout the tournament was named the MVP.

For their part, SHS-AdC ruled the girls 18 with a 2-0 beating of Don Bosco-Liloan. Itsuko Marie Bacatan copped the MVP award with her seven goals.

Don Bosco was awarded with the Fair Play award for the under-15 and SHS-AdC in the girls 18. — (FREEMAN)
