Man faces trial for trying to ‘kill’ neighbor
CEBU, Philippines — A Cebu City resident is facing charges before the court for allegedly trying to kill his neighbor.
Benjamin Golfere, a resident of Sitio Calyehon in Barangay Labangon, was charged with attempted murder.
In his complaint, 41-year-old Rolando Ferrer, a cook, alleged that Golfere tried to kill him with a knife, while he was washing his feet at a deep well on October 13, 2018.
Ferrer allegedly fought back and was injured in the process.
Prior to the incident, he claimed he had an argument with Golfere on October 6, 2018.
Prosecutor III Noel Cellona ruled in favor of Ferrer.
"The evidence adduced show that the respondent had the intention to kill and this is shown in the kind of weapon used, a knife," read the resolution.
Cellona recommended a bail bond of P120,000 for Golfere's temporary liberty. (FREEMAN)
