Mananga Bridge 1 road asphalting starts today

CEBU, Philippines —  Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. has informed motorists and riding public that starting today, the Department of Public Works and Highways will start conducting asphalting works at the Mananga Bridge 1 in Barangay Tabunok.

But Gullas said the asphalting works will start only from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for two weeks to ensure unhampered traffic in the area.

The mayor said that prior to the start of the road asphalting, he already had a talk with DPWH officials to discuss the traffic plan.

“The DPWH promised to finish the asphalting works within two weeks after Friday. I hope that they will commit to this promise,” Gullas said in his Facebook post.

Gullas added that he also ordered their traffic chief, Joy Tumulak, to deploy his personnel at the area while the DPWH conducts its work to help manage any traffic incidents that might occur there.

“Bisag dili na kaayo traffic nang 9 p.m., pabutangan lang gihapon nato ug traffic enforcer para sa pagmanage sa abli nga lane sa maong bridge,” the mayor added

He also assured his constituents, that they are monitoring this project closely and they will remind DPWH to finish it within schedule.
