Frasco couple says One Cebu not backing Moreno

CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu Fifth District Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco and wife Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia Frasco disproved insinuations that the Garcia-led One Cebu party is supporting the presidential bid of Manila City Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

The couple had a meeting with former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio in Davao City last December 7, 2021, a day after Isko Moreno visited Cebu.

The Frascos said the meeting showed their continued support for the Uniteam of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio in the 2022 elections.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, chairperson of One Cebu, earlier said that party has not declared yet its presidential bet in the 2022 elections and instead gave their family the freedom to explore.

Rep. Pablo John “PJ” Garcia of the third district of Cebu has declared openly his support for Moreno.

As for PJ’s sister, Governor Garcia, she has not categorically declared support for Moreno or any presidential candidate.

Months before the filing of the certificates of candidacy, Duterte-Carpio had already designated Mayor Frasco as her spokesperson.

Also, Frasco had taken her oath as member of Lakas Christian-Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) chaired by Duterte-Carpio prior to their visit in Davao City.

On November 26, 2021, Marcos and Duterte-Carpio were again in Cebu as guests of the League of Municipalities in the Philippines (LMP) Central Visayas during their regional planning conference led by Mayor Frasco as vice president for the Visayas.
