Abellanosa son says being young is his upperhand vs Edu Rama

“My youth…I have the energy…I can listen…I don’t pretend to know everything…It’s very important for me to listen to the people, what are their problems and what solutions they want,” said Abellanosa.

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City South District congressional bet, BG Abellanosa, is highlighting his youth over his opponent, Councilor Edu Rama.

“My youth…I have the energy…I can listen…I don’t pretend to know everything…It’s very important for me to listen to the people, what are their problems and what solutions they want,” said Abellanosa.

BG or Bebot Gwapo as he is known for, said it is important to have someone who understands the issues among the youth being the city’s future.

“It is important to have someone who understands the issues of our youth. With the guidance of mayor Tomas Osmeña, Ma’am Margot (Osmeña), and Congressman Bebot (BG’s father) too. With these three by my side, I am sure we can give a better future to the youth of Cebu City, the city’s future,” said BG.

Pressed for more by reporters if elected, BG said, one of his first priorities is to look into the health care system in the country, particularly free check-ups in the entire country and not just Cebu City at that.

The young Abellanosa said he draws much inspiration out of the wakes he had been into where early detection on cancer had not been done due to monetary consideration for check-ups.

Aside from that, Abellanosa also expressed support to the aggrieved Carbon Market vendors to keep it a public market.

Abellanosa is running for a congressional seat as a replacement to former mayor Tomas Osmeña, also a former congressman.

Osmeña said he really wanted to run for Congress but did not want to relocate to Manila.

He is also devoting his time now in helping their bets at Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) for the next elections.

“Andam ko motabang sa akong grupo kay hantod karon bisan dili ko modagan ako magpabilin nga haligi sa Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK),” said Osmeña.

Meanwhile, Osmeña also made it clear that he is supporting ABC president and ex-officio Councilor Franklyn Ong’s candidacy being their groups’ vice mayoral bet and not Bimbo Fernandez.

“I have nothing personal against Bimbo as a candidate. We have worked together for many years and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. Franklyn is hardworking and has earned his place as our official candidate and we will keep our word,” stressed Osmeña. — Decemay P. Padilla, GMR (FREEMAN)
