DOH-7 unveils new Visayas blood center

The Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas inaugurated the new Subnational Blood Center for Visayas (SNBCV) building in its new home at the DOH Complex.

CEBU, Philippines —  The lead blood service facility in the Visayas region has a new building in Cebu City.

The Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas inaugurated the new Subnational Blood Center for Visayas (SNBCV) building in its new home at the DOH Complex.

The three-story building will house a state-of-the-art laboratory that will perform all the screening tests to ensure the safety of blood and blood products for transfusion.

Aside from that, it will also feature high-capacity blood storage facilities that will enable the facility to effectively store adequate blood supply for the region and even for the other areas in the Visayas.

The inauguration was led by its DOH-7 Regional Director, Dr. Jaime Bernadas.

Also present were the different department heads, LGU representatives, and OPAV representative Atty. Lessandro Maraon.

Aside from the inauguration, three local government units got new ambulances from the Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CVCHD) yesterday.

Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City got an ambulance each, while the municipality of Argao in Cebu province got two ambulances. — KQD (FREEMAN)
