CEBU, Philippines — Illegal drugs worth P2.7 million were confiscated from a high-value individual and his cohort in Sitio Tabucanal, Barangay Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City Tuesday evening.

Personnel of Pardo Police Station arrested Romil Cordova Lim, 38, a resident of the area, during a buy-bust operation.

Arrested with Lim was his cohort identified as Edgardo Badayos, 63, who is listed as a street-level drug personality.

Recovered from the suspects were 400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2,720,000.

In an interview, Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, Deputy City Director for Operations of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said that both suspects were monitored for a week before the operatives conducted the operation.

“They were also listed in our database which is our priority target...he (Lim) was the subject of the buy-bust..and iyang kuyog who is a resident of Ormoc City, nakuhaan sad sa iyang possession ug 25 grams,” said Parilla.

According to Parilla, they are now verifying if the suspects belong to an illegal drug syndicate.

“Mao pa ni atong gisubay, pero kani sya (Lim) dugay na ni sya nga included sa atong database list, mao ni atong mga priority,”said Parilla.

With the large volume of illegal drugs confiscated from their possession, Parilla said they do not discount the possibility  that the suspects are connected with a drug syndicate.

The suspects, according to Parilla, were responsible for the illegal drug distribution in the area.

“Within the area of the Station 7 ni sila nag-operate, taudtaud na gyud ni sila kay na include naman sila sa database, iya ra ning kuyog si (Badayos),” said Parilla. — LPM (FREEMAN)
